In 1980, the band goes on a short hiatus, as the majority of the members
had to report for mandatory service in the armed forces. During their
time in the army, (mandatory term was roughly around six months), they
have a small concert and record the single "Back To The Filthy
Big City".
After their return from the army, in the spring of 1981, the band heads
into the studio and records the album "Rotten Immagination and
Filthy Things", their last non-political album. The album was a
smash hit, and most of the songs became cult classics. After the release
of the album, they head back out on tour, and the usual chaos ensues.
In November of the same year, the band's third studio album, "Still
Life", comes out, and amidst harsh criticism by conservatives and
politicians, sells a whopping 500,000 copies. Videos, TV appearances,
and sold out concerts with all the obligatory chaos follow.
